The Glengoyne 35 Year Old is a limited edition bottling of Glengoyne single malt, which was distilled in the 1970s! It was matured for 35 years in Sherry casks. Thus, giving it some classic dark-chocolate-and-raisin Sherried notes. This deluxe single malt has been presented in a lovely decanter alongside a presentation box. Which opens as if you were splitting it in half like you didn’t know your own strength.
There are only 500 decanters available worldwide.
Nose: Apple pies, sponge cake, big wafts of caramel and chocolate. Spice and crushed almonds.
Palate: Cherry, honey and plenty of oak. More spice than the nose. Classic old leather notes and apple peels. Dried fruits and vanilla.
Finish: Brown sugar and rich oak – quite long.
Overall: Big and packed with fruit, though balanced with oak and leather – what a dream!
