Wincarnis Original is a blend of enriched wine and malt extract infused with a bewildering variety of botanicals. That includes, gentian root, mugwort, angelica root, balm mint, fennel seed, coriander seed, peppermint leaves, cardamom seeds and cassia bark. It is a brand name of a British tonic wine, popular in Jamaica and some other former British colonies. Wincarnis has a similar taste to sweet sherry.
Wincarnis Ginger Tonic Wine is a variation from the Original flavour. It contains the same unique blend of herbs and spices but soaked in natural ginger, providing additional benefits to the digestive system. It is a well known cooking ingredient for the “Ginger Chicken”dish.
It is delicious served on its own, with ice, as a base in other mixed drinks, and as a cooking ingredient. It is often taken by new mothers as a health tonic in Singapore, Malaysia and the Gulf.
